Bright lights, towering buildings, and the buzz of city life – that’s what we had in store for us throughout Ruchi, Zach (and Pony’s) vibrant engagement session last week at the New York Public Library on 42nd street. We hit the bustling streets of midtown Manhattan, but this time it was all quiet and with very few people.
I am so excited that we were able to use the New York Public Library as a backdrop! It not only was a special place for Ruchi and Zach, but an incredible landmark that I’ve always loved too.
These two were full of energy, and I love that they wore those pink hues. It was the perfect complement to the grand stone wall backgrounds we were working with throughout the shoot.
Zach wore a black suit with a pink tie to match Ruchi, she wore a pink lehenga from Etsy (Dream Exporter) with sparkly gold heels from Payless, and pony wore a matching flower crown (also from Etsy (Flower Hungry)… he looked adorable.
What’s their story? Ruchi and Zach met in English class in their freshman year of college and have been together ever since.
Not only did we have a fun time with the session, but Ruchi had a great surprise… Zach officially proposed during the engagement session! Ruchi said “We had decided to get married this year several years ago since I was finishing my training.”
Some advice from Ruchi and Zach for an engagement session “Pick a place that has meaning for you and have fun, and trust the process. Roberto knows exactly what he is going for and he has an incredible eye for framing things exactly the way you want them. He allows you to be yourself while still capturing the both of you at your best.”.
A New York Public Library engagement session was a perfect way to celebrate Ruchi and Zach’s story. There are a lot of reasons to have an engagement session. Not only do they give you images to announce your engagement in style, but an engagement session is the best way for us to get to know each other. You get to see how I work and I’m able to get a feel for your natural chemistry and figure out how we can tell the absolute best version of your story in a way that will last forever. This is why you should have an engagement session. Have some fun and get some fun images along the way.
I love dogs and whenever possible it can always be fun to get our furry friends in pictures with us! Ruchi and Poni are experts… you should check out their account on instagram @ruchiandpony. Here are a few tips on planning to have an engagement session with your pet.
Ruchi said: “We had a wonderful time and Roberto is absolutely energizing and motivated. He is willing to be out for as long as you want to make sure you get the photos you always dreamed of but never knew you were capable of taking. We cannot thank him enough. I also had the big surprise of the engagement ring, and Roberto went the extra mile to make sure multiple cell phone videos were taken of the big moment, scouting in advanced and finding a willing family. Not only did he go the extra mile right from the beginning in that way, he worked with us for three hours, listened to what we wanted (ice cream) and was happy to combine our vision with his own. “
And the ice cream was yum too.
