I recently photographed Alanna and Mike at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. This beautiful couple will be getting married next October (due to Covid).
They went to high school together, but did not meet until right after college. Alanna and Mike met through mutual friends and were both dating other people at the time. They were good friends for 1.5 years and when both of their relationships naturally ended, they started dating few months later.
Here is how he proposed…
“We went to Sandals Ochos Rios Jamaica this past December. He arranged for a couples massage on the beach followed by a photo shoot that he told me was complimentary. At the end of the photo shoot during sunset, he proposed to me on a dock overlooking the ocean. We got the moment caught on camera!”
Classic story of NOT meeting during high school…. but then the word turns around… I love that story!
“We are excited to celebrate with friends and family. We decided to postpone the wedding a year due to the pandemic, therefore we cannot wait to celebrate our love story along with everybody’s health! We love the location as it is overlooking the Hudson River and has the walkway over the Hudson in the background that will be lit up in the evening.”
The wedding will be at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie. I know it’s going to be a gorgeous wedding!
Future wedding details aside, let’s get to the present: Alanna and Mike’s engagement session! These two are real naturals in front of the camera. Their good looks, fabulous outfit choices, a sublime location and their genuine love for each other made this photo shoot one of my favorites yet!
May these two live happily ever after!

“We had a wonderful experience. We had never had a real professional photo shoot before and felt we would be awkward. Roberto made us feel very comfortable and gave us direction when needed. He listened to us and made sure he captured who we are as a couple. Our pictures and album turned out fantastic!” This is why you should have an engagement session!
Venue: The Grandview in Poughkeepsie
