Facilities and Capacity for a Wave Hill Wedding

You can opt for different Hill House rental areas to host your events. The Wave Hill House was built in 1843 as a residential area. Over the years, it has been home to President Theodore Roosevelt, Mark Twain, Arturo Toscanini, and some British ambassadors to the United Nations.

Today, the English-style building makes for a unique venue for ceremonies and receptions. Discussed below are some of the event spaces that you can choose for your wedding events.  

• Armor Hall 

Featuring rare 16th-century fireplace anchors, colossal cathedral windows, and polychrome wooden ceiling, the Armor Hall is extremely romantic. It can accommodate up to 130 guests for seated dinner and 200 guests for cocktails. However, you can increase the capacity to 175 people by using the adjacent Mark Twain Room at Wave Hill.   

• Mark Twain Room for Wave Hill Wedding

The Mark Twain room is ideal for intimate gatherings as it is rather small and cozy. It looks out onto the beautiful terrace and conifer slope. Formerly used as a library, the Mark Twain room provides access to the Kate French Terrace. It can accommodate up to 45 guests for seated gatherings and 75 guests for standing cocktail hours.

• Kate French Terrace 

You can rent the spacious terrace on its own or with other spaces. A tent covers almost half of the terrace to provide additional privacy. The Kate French Terrace can accommodate up to 100 people for a seated event and 200 people for a cocktail party.

• Wave Hill Wedding at the Ecology Building

The ecology building is a 1500 sq ft event space. It is located right under the lower lawn. This Wave Hill venue is truly unique and more suitable for fun and casual events like engagement parties and showers. However, keep in mind that it is not ADA accessible.   

The Bottom Line
