about roberto

After your special someone finally bends down on one knee, asks for your hand in marriage, and orchestrates a celebration of your engagement, the reality of wedding planning sinks in!

Whether you have known where you wanted to get married since you were little, have been looking around for the past few months, or haven’t put one thought into it until today, you are going to want to read today’s post on finding the perfect wedding venue!

The first place I would suggest looking is on social media. Nowadays, most, if not all, venues have a social media presence. You can start by finding venues using hashtags. For example, let’s say you are looking to get married in New Jersey, a great hashtag for you to use would be “#NJWeddingVenues”. What is great about using a hashtag like this one is that wedding videographers, photographers, planners, florists, etc. will also come up! This is because wedding creatives usually use this hashtag in their posts as well. Clicking on these photos will allow you to find a variety of photos and videos from a ton of different venues. It will also help you find photographers, videographers, florists, planners, etc. which is awesome!

The next place you can find your perfect wedding venue is at websites like The Knot or Wedding Wire. Once you make your way to one of those websites, simply click on “Venues” or “Reception Venues”, categorize your needs and wants, and a list of the venues that offer what you are looking for will appear! From there, you can look at reviews, and even go as far as looking up the venues on social media and visiting their websites! Using websites like these are great because they allow you to filter what you are looking for  – guest capacity, price range, the setting, amenities, their service offerings (food and drink), etc.

The next place you can find your perfect wedding venue is, Google! Simply typing in “NJ Wedding Venues”, “Wedding Venues near me”, gives you endless options. Clicking on the “Maps” link can also give you a better idea of where the venue is located, and most times when you click on the pin, a website link will be listed to the left of your screen (you’ll want to take a look at this). Similar to a venue’s social media, their website can tell you a lot about them. You can see if they have pictures, reviews displayed, their availability, and so much more! Do not write off Google when looking for your perfect wedding venue because it is a great resource to use!

Some final remarks and tips for what to do when you have found a couple of venues that you think could be the one are:

  1. Keep a list and/or screenshot the venues that you love the most and would like to see in person
  2. Write down a tidbit in regards to what made you love the venue, and what your reservations would be in booking it.
  3. Write down the availability of the venues to help you keep track of what fits your ideal timeline and what does not.

With that, everyone knows that planning a wedding can be a stressful time, but my hope is that with these tips and suggestions it will be more exciting then it is stressful!
